My ideal outing to introduce place based learning
This was my pièce de résistance as it encompasses my key ways to differentiate myself as a teacher by effectively using Place Based Learning whenever and wherever possible. I took this assignment to heart and completely lost focus on grades and expectations because I wanted it to be a learning process for me while going beyond checking it off the to-do list. I also feel that it delivers great ideas for those who might need to be reminded to keep things simple. A class doesn’t need to go to O’Keefe Ranch or the Pioneer school, a quick trip down town has all sorts of hands-on experience across all curriculum. In my short six minute video, Social Studies and other issues were addressed, as was Art, Science, Indigenous understanding, awareness, and acknowledgment, Physical Education and Health, and more!
